Tempers flared between two
heavyweight bangers destined to collide Saturday in Las Vegas,
on the blockbuster Castillo vs. Casamayor show’s undercard.
Jeremy “Half Man Half Amazing” Williams, 41-4-1 (36), and
Samuel “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter, 20-0 (17) traded
threats and insults during a conference to hype their upcoming
showdown for the NABF Heavyweight championship. "I’ve fought
20 Samuel Peters," said Williams. "What he does, I’ve seen
before. I can get 20 sparring partners to do exactly what he
does." Peter responded, "You’re saying that because you
watched me on tape?” countered Peter. “You never met Samuel
Peter. You know what? I promise you I’m going to eat you
alive."

Thankful for Sho-Box Success
07.08.04 - Promoter Dino
Duva wishes to thank everyone involved with making Thursday’s
Duva Boxing debut “Sho-Box – The Next Generation” broadcast a
rousing success. “Hard Knocks at the Hard Rock,” at the
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, was
co-promoted by Warrior’s Boxing and featured power-punching
future heavyweight star Samuel “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter
in the main event and all-action welterweight prospect Juan
Urango in the co-feature.
“Samuel Peter passed the toughest test of his career with
flying colors by pitching a virtual shutout,” said Duva of his
fighter’s unanimous 10-round decision victory. “I am very
pleased he proved so dominant against a very good and very
tough Jovo Pudar. He’s only 23 years old and is still
learning, but we expect him to be ready for any heavyweight in

CONGRATULATIONS RAYMOND BIGGS
ON YOUR 1ST ROUND KNOCK OUT!
RAYMOND BIGGS, JR. SCORES 1ST
ROUND KO IN PRO DEBUT !!
September 15, 2004. Former
amateur stand-out , Brooklyn’s Raymond Biggs, Jr. entered the
pro ranks in spectacular fashion by stopping Batyr Zakrov in
the opening round of their four round bout last night at the
Atlantic Oceana in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. Biggs repeatedly
scored with tremendous jabs and body shots, dropping him in
the first round. Zakrov’s left eye was cut the right beginning
to close until his corner mercifully stopped the bout between
rounds.
Biggs, a 2 time New York Golden Gloves
Champion and Wisconsin Golden Champion, recently inked a
promotional agreement with New Jersey’s Duva Boxing. Managed
by Hall of Fame icon, Lou Duva and his dad, Raymond Sr., the
exciting welterweight is trained by one of the best in the
business, Tommy Brooks.
“This kid reminds me of a young Pernell
Whitaker – he has the speed, the moves, he’s a tremendous body
puncher, and he has the heart, “ stated manager Lou Duva.
Brooks added, “plus he can crack ! I think he’s can go right
into 6 rounders, and move up the ladder real quick, this kid
is so slick ! We didn’t have a whole lot of time together
training, but Lou and I were very impressed with what what we
saw.”
Biggs is expected to be back in the ring
sometime in October. |
